Through high-level basketball instruction, elite competition, and a foundation rooted in Christian values, players develop advanced skills, strong character, and the confidence to excel in any environment. Competing with Wilmington Excel is described as exceptional preparation for success at the high school level and beyond.

Wilmington Excel Travel Basketball is described as Wilmington's longest running travel basketball organization. Wilmington Excel coaches are experienced volunteer coaches with a strong commitment to young players and their families. The leadership team includes Shaun McMahon as Director of Programs, Thomas Davis as Director of Travel Basketball, and Robert Clayton as Assistant Director of Travel Basketball. Excel players are required to maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and are not allowed to play on other basketball travel teams. Financial assistance is available to those in need, and families can request access permission to a Team App to see information such as practice schedules, tournament schedules, and breaking news.
