Geneva Hills Camps describes itself as transforming lives in Central Ohio through gospel-centered camps, retreats, and rentals and is dedicated to creating life-impacting experiences that foster connections with families, communities, and Christ. Day Camp Nature Navigators is listed for ages 6–13, Overnight Camp Woodland Explorers is listed for ages 6–13, and Trailblazers Overnight Camp is listed for ages 12–16. The organization was originally conceived as a Presbyterian camp and now operates as a non-denominational camp with its own set of theology, founded on preaching the good news of the Gospel and seeing lives radically changed through the work of the Holy Spirit.
Geneva Hills Camps has over 100 beds and 350 acres of property and has been a summer camp ministry site since its inception in 1959. In 2011, the Presbyterian denomination transferred stewardship of the property to a 501(c)3 organization named “Geneva Hills Group Inc.” The mission statement says that Geneva Hills exists to impact the lives of the community by providing unforgettable experiences and the opportunity for all of God’s children to grow in the wonder of God’s nature, and this same statement is used to describe its community involvement. The leadership team includes Camp Director Dick Beidler and Sharry McElfresh. A testimonial from Sharry McElfresh describes the camp as “truly Holy Ground, blessed by God to be a meeting place for saints and sinners” and as a place where people have come searching for God, peace and tranquility, adventure, or refuge from the outside world.
