Lincoln Children's Theatre states that it elevates the community by setting the stage for growth and authenticity in every child and that it believes great kids are more important than great productions, while also believing theatre is for all the fish in the sea. Kid-Powered Productions emphasize teamwork, ownership, and taking responsibility, and hands-on learning classes and workshops are provided by their team and guests. The Wish Fish program formalizes a mentorship program that has been building through the past many years and pairs a veteran Lincoln Children's Theatre student or Builders Club member with a child with a disability or challenge.

The Lincoln Children’s Theatre Kiwanis Builders Club partners with the Lincoln Down Syndrome Association for Families (DSAF) of Nebraska to encourage children with down syndrome and other disabilities and challenges to experience theatre, and the Builders Club has raised funds to offer scholarships to DSAF children. The program describes a commitment to overcoming obstacles including financial, neurodivergence, physical disability, and transportation, and to offering mainstream opportunities to all kids as both possible and beneficial. Kiwanis Club of Lincoln Center, The Village Foundation, The Heritage League Women's Club, and 101 Mobility contributed to making accessibility ramps possible, and these ramps are camouflaged for performances, used by everyone as an additional entrance and exit, and put up and taken down by students at the end of each rehearsal and performance. This program is made possible in part by support from the Nebraska Arts Council and The Nebraska Cultural Endowment.

Leadership and student contributors named in connection with the program include LCT techie Chance Ritchie, Kathleen Frohner, and Builders Club member Ellyson Stolcpart (age 11). One Lincoln Children’s Theatre fan states, “You will never believe it is children's theatre. The shows are amazing!” A Lincoln area music educator states that Lincoln Children's Theatre is the only performing arts organization in the Lincoln area they refer their students to for enrichment outside of the classroom. A Lincoln Children’s Theatre parent reports, “My child thrived being part of this family!” Builders Club member Ellyson Stolcpart (age 11) describes being on stage with Andy as “the best experience of my life” and says it “filled my heart with joy.”
