Lincoln Children’s Museum Camps and Programs include LCM summer camps, birthday parties, and several hands-on exhibit experiences. Children can explore the MathHappens Math Room, a STEM-focused space with puzzles, patterns, and playful challenges, create giant pixel art with pool noodles in the PIXEL THIS exhibit, and use the LNKLab exhibit, which is designed for 8–12 year olds. The program also offers Wednesday mornings at the museum with free early entry from 8–9 a.m. and a free coffee bar, Sensory Hours every Wednesday and Thursday from 3–5 p.m., and the MEOWseum Discovery Days Photo Experience with a Gabby’s Dollhouse theme from August 14 to 23, 2026.

Lincoln Children’s Museum Camps and Programs are part of a private non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that receives no city, state, or federal tax dollars. The Museum’s mission is “Inviting children to create, discover, and learn through the power of play.” The organization began when parents and educators started planning a hands-on learning museum in 1987, hosted a 10-day “Sights and Sounds” exhibit in 1988 that drew 10,000 families, and opened a permanent museum in December 1989. The Museum is a KultureCity-certified venue and a member of the Association of Children’s Museums, and it partners with local sponsors such as Hy-Vee, Kimmel Orchard, and Husker Sports Area for exhibits. Lincoln Children’s Museum supports child-focused events, schools, and charitable causes in the community, and museum members receive free access to other science centers 90 miles outside of LCM as well as reduced admission to nearly 200 children’s museums nationwide through the Museum Traveler membership.
