About

Gang Alternative, Inc. Youth Programs are part of Gang Alternative, Inc., which operates under five Pillars of Service: Positive Youth Development, Family Strengthening, Workforce Development, Community Upliftment and Partnerships, and Health and Wellness. The programs are founded in faith and were developed with the understanding that there is more to ministry work than only teaching “Bible stuff.”

Gang Alternative, Inc. was incorporated in 2005. Its mission is to build character that lasts in children and families through positive alternatives to crime, violence, dependency, and delinquency by offering a holistic approach to their academic, physical, social, economic, and spiritual development. Staff members are fluent in English, French, Haitian Creole, and Spanish, and have a wealth of experience in social services. Organizational values include putting God first, being servant leaders, treating others with respect, good moral character, building and transforming communities, positive family lifestyles, and positive community change. GA is a licensed Florida Department of Children and Families level 1 and 2 provider and is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities for case management and prevention services. Target communities include Little Haiti, New River, Liberty City, and North Miami, with expansion to other communities in Miami-Dade County including Little Havana and Homestead, and programs in Broward and Palm Beach County. GA has provided coalition mentoring to a drug-free coalition in Puerto Rico and is a member of both the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.
