Camp Acorn

Camp Acorn offers enrichment programs for children and adults with developmental disabilities. The program includes cooking and life skills, horticulture therapy, art therapy, music and drama, sports, boot camp fitness, computers, and swimming. It runs year round.

About the provider

Camp Acorn was established in 2001, and the site notes 25 years of Camp Acorn. Its mission is to cultivate unique experiences that nurture individual growth and foster a sense of belonging. The mission statement also says Camp Acorn provides a supportive environment through enrichment programs that address the physical, emotional, and social well-being of children and adults with developmental disabilities. The program relies on volunteers and donors and works with schools, local service clubs, religious organizations, large corporations, local businesses, and foundations.

Serves children and adults with disabilities and developmental disabilities. Not currently accepting new camper enrollment for the Day Habilitation program (21+). For the summer program, volunteers are asked to review the volunteer policy and submit an application, and to bring a copy of recent immunization records.
