The Summer Entrepreneurship and Business Academy (SEBA) includes activities such as an icebreaker activity, an escape room activity, and a business plan competition that culminates in student teams creating proposed new business ventures. During the week, students participate in a Business Plan Competition Introduction with team assignments and idea generation, work on business plans with faculty mentors, and attend a breakfast and interactive food truck presentation with DonutNV. The program also includes a networking dinner, an entrepreneurship panel, and a workshop titled “Building Your Business Village - Why Every Entrepreneurship Needs a Team.”

• Schedule: One week of programming that includes housing, meals, and field trips, with activities scheduled from Sunday, July 12, 2026, through at least Tuesday morning, July 14, 2026

The Summer Entrepreneurship and Business Academy (SEBA) at Stockton University School of Business is designed to provide a platform for area high school students to appreciate and learn about the basics of entrepreneurship and business, and is designed to help prepare students for the future by providing a learning experience described as unique and exciting. SEBA is described as a summer camp focused on the current state of business and entrepreneurship that culminates in a business plan competition among student teams, with topics that include accounting, management, computer/business analytics, marketing, and hospitality and tourism, along with entrepreneurship, business ethics, free enterprise, teamwork, and personal skills. Students are assigned into business teams that become partnerships in creating proposed new business ventures, and the winning team in the business plan competition receives $500.
The program features a keynote speaker, Cheldin Barlatt-Rumer of THIS IS IT Network, and guest speakers including Dayna DeFiore, Assistant Director of Career Education & Development at Stockton University; Noel Criscione-Naylor, Program Chair and Professor of Hospitality, Tourism & Event Management at Stockton University; Steven Capo, Founder/CEO of Strand Tennis; and Donna Albano, Professor of Hospitality, Tourism & Event Management at Stockton University, who also leads the “Building Your Business Village - Why Every Entrepreneurship Needs a Team” workshop. Leadership and support roles include Donna Albano, Caitlin Byrne, Program Assistant in the School of Business at Stockton University, and Rashaun Mason, an MBA student at Stockton University. The business plan competition is judged by advisory board members, faculty, and executives from the business community, and is also described as being judged by faculty, advisory board members, and community leaders.
Testimonials from past participants describe learning about topics such as finance, branding, ethics, and AI, and applying what was learned to business plans developed under the supervision of mentors. Participants describe field trips around Atlantic City, an esports day, and a day at the Tropicana, as well as living in dorms described as being right on the Jersey Shore and right on the beach. Testimonials also mention catered food, friendships with students from across the country, and experiences that included creating a business, strategizing marketing, and working one-on-one with industry leaders.
