Bayonne PAL Day Care offers diverse recreational activities along with an educational program for children enrolled in the after school program. The program includes homework help, tutorial services, and a homework assistance program that parents can request for their children.

• Schedule: Year-round day care with after school hours most of the school year, half-day hours on early dismissal days, full-day hours when schools are not in session, and an 8-week summer camp operating from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
The Bayonne PAL Day Care has been providing quality day care for the children of Bayonne since 1947, and the center was founded by the late Jerry Clougher in 1975. For more than four decades, the Bayonne Police Athletic League Day Care Center has offered a year-round program of quality child care for the families of Bayonne and describes itself as a “Home Away From Home” for children of parents who work or attend school or job training programs. All staff members meet requirements established by the State of New Jersey for employment within a child care center, and staff members are encouraged to upgrade their professional development through workshops, seminars, and college level courses in Early Childhood Development. The program operates in space within Midtown Community School, which was completed in 1992 after the demolition of the PAL building and adjacent Roosevelt School. The Bayonne PAL Board of Directors includes Daniel Harrington (President), Sal Gullace (Vice President), Toni Bottino (Treasurer), Sharon Nadrowski (Secretary), Jack Hladik (Board Member), Christopher Munoz (Board Member), Gene Perry (Board Member), Lt. Stephen Rhodes (Board Member), Michael Rosario (Board Member), and Leonard Kiczek, Esq. (Board Member).
