Kids Swim Lessons at Life Time Berkeley Heights offers Parent & Child Swim Lessons, Kids Group Lessons, Semi-Private Lessons, Private Lessons, Swim Clinics, Stroke Development, and Family Swim. The program includes 61 swim classes in different formats led by 4 dedicated instructors, with small class sizes for kids group lessons. Swim Clinics provide two to three hours of additional lessons that include learning water safety skills and sports, with food provided.

An active club-accessing Life Time junior membership is required for kids’ swim lessons, and a junior membership can only be generated by adding onto an adult membership where the adult is the child’s legal guardian or grandparent. During Family Swim hours, children under 12 years of age are allowed to play in the pool area when accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or sponsoring member, and if a child cannot swim 25 meters continuously, an adult must be actively watching within 10 feet at all times. The program uses a 25:10 rule for parent proximity based on a child’s ability to swim 25 meters continuously, and children who successfully complete the 25-meter swim test receive a yellow wristband for each Family Swim session.
Families can receive a complimentary assessment to evaluate skills and determine a starting level, and the program offers extensive, convenient, ongoing programming for all levels that keeps children enrolled and moving through levels when they feel ready, with a 30-day cancellation policy. The program includes New Member Exclusive recurring group swim lessons and four complimentary kids swim lessons for juniors in recurring monthly group swim lessons. For members enrolling multiple children in swim lessons, all children after the first child enrolled receive a 25% discount on the lesson cost.
