Innovate Martial Arts is part of the American Taekwondo Association (ATA), which has 130,000 active members and has trained over 1 million students since 1969. The program follows Songahm Taekwondo and the ATA’s principles and methodologies, including a journey from White Belt to Black Belt with 10 belts total. The Innovate Pandas program focuses on character qualities such as courtesy, respect, and discipline, and Karate for Kids classes focus on developing a positive mental attitude, setting high goals, and building confidence. Zone 4 Kickboxing builds endurance and strength and increases confidence, and the summer camp provides life skills necessary for children to be the best they can be. Innovate Martial Arts is a training ground for people of all fitness and skill levels, and anyone can begin martial arts at any age or fitness level.

Instructors at Innovate Martial Arts undergo an intensive, rigorous certification process built on 40 years of tradition, cutting-edge research, and development, and have co-created the ATA MAX curriculum to develop well-rounded Songahm martial artists. Sr. Master Evan Turner, a 7th Degree Black Belt, owns Innovate Martial Arts and relocated from Texas to New Jersey in January 2017 to launch the program. Since January 2017, Innovate Martial Arts has been dedicated to serving the communities of Bordentown, Jackson, and Monroe by helping children and adults build confidence, develop leadership, and improve fitness through the life skills and discipline of martial arts. Sr. Master Evan Turner has earned 12 ATA World Championship titles, 5 Pan American titles, and multiple championships across Florida, Georgia, Texas, and New Jersey, and represented the ATA and the United States internationally as a member of the inaugural USA Sparring Team. In 2024, Sr. Master Evan Turner won both the Regional and International Instructor of the Year.

The mission of Innovate Martial Arts is to keep growing the school into one of the premier schools in the country and to empower every student who walks through its doors to discover their potential. Innovate Martial Arts emphasizes confidence-building martial arts classes, a focus on personal development and building confidence, and fostering a strong sense of community, with a supportive community that fosters friendships, discipline, and personal growth.

Parents describe Innovate Martial Arts as having a fitness component along with learning karate moves, teaching and building character in each child, and having instructors who are good with kids and knowledgeable, according to Alicia W. Another parent, Diane T.H., describes Innovate Martial Arts as more than just a school that practices Taekwondo and more than just a team of dedicated teachers that promote excellence and respect, and states that Innovate creates an environment that is warm and inviting to all, where students are trained and groomed to be the best version of themselves, and credits the leadership class and life skills learned at Innovate with her two introverted sons becoming State Champions and doing great in school. Katie K. reports that her 6- and 8-year-olds have gained strength, discipline, and confidence from their 9 months at Innovate Martial Arts and calls it a great program with great instructors.
