The Martin Luther King Youth Center serves the community by providing quality affordable after-school enrichment programs and summer camp designed to prepare and empower future leaders. The programs are offered on a sliding income scale and are meant for children from low-income families who would not be able to afford such services. The center serves elementary to middle school students of diverse backgrounds and provides daily stability and consistency in a structured environment. It exposes children to extracurricular activities that enrich their cultural, social, and developmental experiences and helps kids with academics through tutoring.

The facility has a library and a computer lab, and the library has an area where children can use state-of-the-art computers to access educational games that test their subject knowledge and understanding. The Martin Luther King Youth Center has built enrichment center values based on ABC: it accommodates all children who seek services, builds family and community partnerships, and creatively engages students through exciting educational programs while emphasizing character development and leadership skills. The center provides on-going homework support via email contact with the Director. It is open and follows CDC guidelines during the COVID-19 crisis.

The facility was originally opened as a recreational youth center in 1972. The organization has Ranji Chopra serving as the executive director, and the director contact is Rajni Chopra at [email protected]. The Martin Luther King Youth Center serves the community by preparing and empowering future leaders, is here to answer the call to serve the underserved, provides high-quality after-school and summer camp programs for children in Bridgewater and its surrounding communities, and builds family and community partnerships.
