About
Cranford YMCA Youth Programs and Camps offers youth swim lessons, group and individual instructional swim, youth and adult swim lessons, water fitness, water exercise classes, lap swim, family swim, and pool parties. The program also includes school age after care, before care & after care, summer camp, youth sports classes and leagues, basketball clinics, taekwondo, dance classes, and lifeguard training courses. Additional activities and amenities include group fitness classes, a gymnasium, an indoor pool, racquetball, a sauna, a steam room, personal training, and Basic Life Support (BLS) & First Aid Training.
• Schedule: Cranford YMCA Summer 2026 Session runs June 28–August 22, with priority registration for Family Members beginning Thursday, June 11 at 9am and registration for Program & Non-Members beginning Monday, June 15 at 9am. Summer hours beginning June 28 are Monday–Thursday 5:00am–9:00pm, Friday 5:00am–8:00pm, Saturday 6:00am–4:00pm, and Sunday 7:00am–3:00pm.
The Westfield Area YMCA, which includes the Cranford YMCA Youth Programs and Camps, has been strengthening the communities of Cranford, Garwood, Mountainside and Westfield since 1923 and has met changing community needs for over 100 years. The Westfield Area YMCA is a nonprofit human service organization and a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit social services organization dedicated to Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility, with a mission to develop the full potential of every individual and family through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The Y states that everyone is welcome regardless of age, ability, income, or background, and that it is dedicated to diversity, equity and inclusion, guided by core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Financial assistance is available for YMCA programs and memberships to individuals and families with a bona fide financial hardship who live or work in Westfield, Cranford, Garwood or Mountainside, NJ.
Items collected in the Cranford YMCA Bathing Suit Drive, held from May 26, 2026 at 5am through August 22, 2026 at 4pm, are distributed through member agencies and social services to those in need. The Westfield Area YMCA is a member agency of the Westfield United Fund. The organization notes that it has been celebrating 2 years of the Cranford YMCA since February 2024.
