East Orange YMCA Youth Programs includes summer camp, youth sports such as basketball, cheerleading, and karate, and swim options like swim lessons and open swim. The program also offers Preschool Daycare, an After School Program, School's Out Vacation Camp, Buddy Ball, Healthy Kids Day, and swim lesson tracks called Swim Starters, Swim Basics, and Swim Strokes. Teen and Adult Swim Lessons are also part of the program.

For children aged 3 and 4, East Orange YMCA offers a full-day preschool program that is nationally accredited, and all teachers are certified. The preschool daycare is nationally accredited, and the summer camp is accredited by the American Camp Association. Summer camp programs for children aged 3 to 15 are divided into four groups based on age, and the camp emphasizes building self-esteem and provides positive adult role models. Kids’ basketball programs are available for grades 3 through 12, and Buddy Ball is a basketball class designed specifically for neurodiverse children. School's Out Vacation Camp is available on days when public schools are closed, and Kids April Vacation Camp runs April 6–10, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with a Kids May Vacation Camp on May 28, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Open swim is available for members, and membership is required to participate in open swim. The Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges will celebrate Healthy Kids Day, the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids. The Y For All – Financial Assistance Program is available to make child care and summer camp more affordable for families.
