East Orange YMCA Youth Programs and Camps offers summer camp, youth sports, swim lessons, open swim, and year-round child care programs. Children can take part in activities such as basketball, cheerleading, karate, Buddy Ball basketball classes, Preschool Daycare, an After School Program, School's Out Vacation Camp, and Healthy Kids Day events.

• Schedule: General program hours Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with select vacation camps and events offered on specific dates and times
The program’s mission states that it has something for everyone from toddlers to adults, with programs that build healthy habits, life skills, and community. Summer camp is accredited by the American Camp Association, and the preschool program is nationally accredited. For children aged 3 and 4, the East Orange YMCA offers a full-day preschool program that is nationally accredited, and all teachers are certified. Healthy Kids Day is described as the Y’s national initiative to improve the health and well-being of kids. The Y For All – Financial Assistance Program is available to make child care and summer camp more affordable for qualifying families. Buddy Ball is described as a fun, supportive basketball class designed specifically for neurodiverse children, and children in summer camp are divided into four groups based on age.
