Camp Deeny Riback is part of JCC MetroWest’s summer day camps and is ACA accredited. It is described as a premier Jewish day camp in Morris and Essex counties and is open to all. The program includes four distinct camps and leadership programs: Junior Village (Pre-K – 1), Middle Camp (Grades 2–5), Upper Camp (Grades 6–9), and Leaders in Training (Grade 10). Camp Deeny Riback offers a Camp Friends Inclusion Program for campers who need additional support, with children supported by qualified staff who enable them to be part of every aspect of the camp experience; this program is available for ages 3½ years old through 4th grade. Campers at Camp Deeny Riback learn “super skills”: Critical Thinking & Problem Solving, Creativity & Innovation, Communication & Collaboration, Flexibility & Adaptability, and Initiative & Self-Direction. The camp includes Israeli staff and provides the experience of an overnight camp in a traditional day camp setting. Over 20,000 campers have called Camp Deeny Riback home since 1970.

According to its mission statement, Camp Deeny Riback is a place where campers 3 years old (and fully potty trained) through 10th grade are nurtured and guided by role models and peers during a summer of exploration and growth, and campers are exposed to skills they will need to grow and succeed in today’s world alongside the opportunity to express themselves as children in a safe environment.

The leadership team includes Dana Gottfried, Director of Camp Deeny Riback; Shari Weinerman, Enrollment Director; Jay Faigenbaum, Assistant Director for communication, programming, camper health, and Junior Village; and Sara Simon, Operations Director for financial services, transportation, and aquatics programs. JCC MetroWest, which includes Camp Deeny Riback, has been a pillar of the community for over 140 years and touches approximately 50,000 people each year through classes, theater events, the fitness center, summer camps, and community-wide festivals. In keeping with Jewish heritage and values, JCC MetroWest describes itself as an inclusive community that is open to and appreciates people of all ages, genders, races, religions, nationalities, ethnicities, abilities, sexual orientations, education, socioeconomic levels, and political perspectives.
