Proventus Kids began in 2016 in Florham Park, New Jersey. The program describes its method as focusing on using sports as a tool to empower kids and now also using arts and crafts for the same purpose. The mission statement notes that the way of instruction focuses on coaches being role models and creating connections and environments for children to thrive while developing their sports skills.
Proventus Kids offers a year-round pathway of age-appropriate programs starting at 18 months and continuing through the teen years, including FUNdamentals, Skills N Thrills, Compete TO Complete, and winter 4v4 indoor futsal soccer teams. FUNdamentals includes a large variety of sports in a setting that is described as fun and engaging, with single-sport or multisport options. Skills N Thrills is described as challenging a child’s sport skill level and understanding of teamwork, and Compete TO Complete is described as offering an environment similar to being on a team, developing technical, tactical, physical, and psychological understandings.
Private pods allow families to choose the participants, location, and schedule, with a coach coming to the house or neighborhood, and standard packages allow up to 5 participants, with some camp packages noting up to 10 participants. Birthday parties are one-hour events, with options to add 30 or 60 minutes, and Proventus comes to the family’s house or chosen location to provide sports, obstacle courses, and activities. 1-on-1 private lessons are one-hour classes held at the family’s house or chosen location.
Proventus Kids partners with girl and boy scout groups in Chatham, Madison, and Florham Park to deliver badges in sports and exercise, leadership, sportsmanship, and kindness. The program notes that its summer camps have been described as an environment that has inspired and empowered children every summer since 2016. Today, Proventus states that it has started its vision to use a wider variety of tools, including arts and crafts, to empower kids.
