The program uses small class sizes with a maximum student-to-teacher ratio of 4:1 and offers flexible class times and free make-up lessons. Instruction follows the Goldfish Swim School Perpetual Lessons Plan and a play-based philosophy called The Science of SwimPlay®. The curriculum includes games, a relaxed and fun atmosphere, and awards for achievements and milestones, along with progress tracking.
All lifeguards receive training in the International Lifeguard Training Program™ developed by Jeff Ellis and Associates and receive regular, ongoing training from a certified lifeguard instructor. Highly trained lifeguards are on deck whenever the pool is actively in use, and the program states that safety and supervision are provided at all times. A swimsuit and a towel are required for swim class, and reusable swim diapers are required for younger swimmers.
