YMCA of the Pines offers activities such as swimming, kayaking, canoeing, sports, archery, creative arts, scavenger hunts, ropes and challenge courses, sing-alongs, s’mores by a campfire, and cabin chats. Campers can take part in an Earth Education program, nature hikes, hiking on an interpretive nature trail, horseback riding, water activities, weekly theme days, talent shows, family nights, and climbing a 50-foot wall. The program also includes wilderness trips that involve canoeing through the wilderness, with all nights on these trips spent in tents.

• Schedule: Most expeditions are 6–7 days long; office hours are generally on weekdays, with extended Welcome Center hours in the summer and specific weekend hours.
YMCA of the Pines offers Wilderness Trips for youth ages 11–17, and instructors for these trips are trained in Wilderness First Aid, CPR, lifeguarding for canoe expeditions, leadership development curriculum, and backcountry living skills. Counselors at Lake Stockwell are trained to be “Professional Role Models,” Camp Ockanickon is an overnight camp for boys that focuses on individual growth and development of skills and talents distinctive to boys, and Camp Matollionequay is an overnight camp for girls that focuses on inspiring girls to reach their full potential and develop positive self-esteem and independence. Lake Stockwell Day Camp is co-ed, and YMCA of the Pines also offers before- and after-school childcare with homework assistance through its School’s Out program at eight different school locations, along with a School’s Out At Camp program during selected school closings.
YMCA of the Pines is celebrating its 120th anniversary and is referred to as “Camp for Character since 1906.” Its mission statement describes it as an interfaith, charitable association dedicated to helping children, teens, and families explore, grow, thrive, and become the best version of themselves. The organization hosts an Annual Golf Tournament, and the 38th Annual YMCA of the Pines Golf Tournament supports the YMCA of the Pines Scholarship Fund, which helps kids with financial need attend camp.
