Look What I Can Do describes its mission as nurturing a child's sense of wonder, creativity and self expression, building confidence and skills one masterpiece at a time. The studio is described as a “Studio for Wonder & Discovery,” filled with open-ended art materials and hands-on science experiments, and is thoughtfully set up so every material has a place and every station has a purpose. The program uses art as the foundation for science, confidence building, and real skill development, and is described as a safe, warm environment where every child truly thrives.

Look What I Can Do was founded by Tricia Schaeffer, also referred to as “Miss Tricia.” In 2008, Tricia embarked on opening her own studio for children. Tricia earned her B.A. in Early Childhood Development from Ohio State University and her M.A. in Elementary Education from Monmouth University. She previously served seven years as Assistant Director for Pre-K and First Grades and eight years as Executive Director of the Children's Cultural Center of Red Bank.

Through her community and international work, Tricia has helped develop environmental conservation programs for children in the United States and New Zealand while working with national parks. She implemented innovative, arts-based education for hearing- and vision-impaired children in Australia. She joined the Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) Teach Abroad Program and participated in faculty development programs in Fiji. As a UNICEF volunteer, she traveled to Lima, Peru and collaborated with local teachers, integrating math, reading and writing skills with Peruvian culture and the customs of the children.

Parents describe Look What I Can Do as a place their children have attended for years for classes, camps, and birthday parties, and say their kids are “obsessed” with the projects. In their testimonials, parents say Miss Tricia comes up with creative projects, that children explore many different things, and that art is used as the foundation for science, confidence building, and real skill development. They also describe Miss Tricia as “simply the best,” and say they recommend the program for classes, camp, and parties.
