Explora Programs and Camps take place at Explora Science Center & Children's Museum, which has over 250 interactive exhibits and activities in science, technology, engineering, art, and math for the whole family. Explora is described as Albuquerque's science center that is fun for the whole family, a unique place that puts people’s learning in their own hands, and an innovative experiential learning center that advocates for lifelong, materials-rich inquiry. Families and people of all ages can learn together through over 250 exhibit activities in science, technology and art.

Explora began around 1983 with two individual groups that had similar ideas, and since the merging of the two ideals in 1995 Explora has been a learning place for people of all races, ages, genders, abilities, and backgrounds. Explora is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Its mission statement says that Explora contributes to family and community prosperity by creating accessible opportunities for inspirational discovery and lifelong learning through interactive experiences in science, technology, engineering, art, and math.

Explora partners with Ms. Marie Booth's MESA class at East Mountain High School and with NMPBS for Daniel Tiger Story Time. Explora will be at the Railyards Market on Saturday, August 9th, from 10 am to 2 pm for Family Day, and it provides programs such as Family Science Nights and a Youth Intern Program. Testimonials describe Explora as “a place where good things happen” and “my home” from Aniel, an Explora alum, and include a statement from Quantum Tech Physicist Kathleen Oolman: “I embrace change, understanding passion makes things worthwhile.”
