About

Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeastern Nevada offers a wide range of activities, including a STEM program with science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and movie making. Members can use spaces such as the STEM Center with a photography lab, 30 computers, a recording studio, and a TV Studio, as well as the Discovery Center with LEGO engineering, media booths, Claymation, a greenhouse, construction, robotics, and art discovery. The program also includes an art center with painting, bead work, engraving, molding, and art projects, an adventure center with games like pool, bumper pool, ping pong, foosball, shuffle board, carpet ball, skeeball, dome hockey, basketball shoot, Dance Dance Revolution, video gaming, and a climbing wall, along with homework assistance and educational advancement mentoring through the Power Hour program.

The Library includes language programming, encyclopedias, a book library, ACT and SAT testing, magazines, computers, and a media library. The Life Skills Center includes a movie theatre, fitness programs, a full teaching kitchen, and life skills activities. The Teen Center is designed for youth ages 13 years and above and includes a computer lab, game tables, a TV lounge, and video gaming, and teens may participate in Core Service Area rotations or be in the Teen Center. The Club also hosts a gymnasium with volleyball, interactive inflatables, PE curriculum, intramurals, and sport activities, as well as access to a fitness center, game room, teen room, many pools, and a splash area through the Nevada Gold Mines Recreation Center.

The Nevada Gold Mines Early Learning Center is a 50–60 capacity childcare center for infants through five years old and includes outdoor playground amenities. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Elko was founded in 1999 by Al Bernarda and initially operated out of trailers at Southside Elementary School for the first twelve years. In August 2013, a new 17,200 square foot Club opened after securing $4,000,000 in funding. In September 2018, the organization received a $878,000 donation from the William N. Pennington Foundation to build a new Teen Center, which opened in October 2019. In September 2021, Nevada Gold Mines contributed $659,800 to build the Nevada Gold Mines Early Learning Center in Elko, which now serves over 50 children daily between the ages of 9 months and 5 years old. In 2025, the Boys & Girls Club in Elko changed its name to Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeastern Nevada and now serves over 10,000 individuals annually. The organization states that its Clubs provide a safe place for thousands of youth each year, giving them an opportunity to discover their great futures. The NEW Nevada Gold Mines Recreation Center is now open to everyone in the public and is operated by the Boys & Girls Club of Northeastern Nevada.
