The Rock Center for Dance offers Dance With Me, where parents or caregivers can participate alongside children as they learn dance basics and terminology. It also offers PreDance and PreBALLET, where students learn classroom etiquette, rhythm, balance, coordination, flexibility, basic fundamentals, and the first steps and foundation of ballet. For older children, the program includes ComboROCK, BalletROCK, TumbleROCK, Hip Hop ROCK, Primary Ballet, Primary Jazz, Primary Hip Hop, Primary TAP, and Primary ACRO.
Programs
- Dance With Me — 18-36 months · Parents or caregivers can participate alongside their students in learning the basics and terminology of dance.
- PreDance — Age 3-4 · Students learn primary classroom etiquette and develop rhythm, balance, coordination, flexibility and basic fundamentals.
- PreBALLET — Age 3-4 · Introduces the first steps and foundation of ballet and stretch for the youngest ballerinas.
- ComboROCK — Age 4-5 · Combodance provides the same structure as Pre-dance and builds a solid foundation in dance technique fundamentals and classroom skills.
- BalletROCK — Age 4-5 · A full hour of ballet class focused on posture, stretch, legs, feet, and classical upper body positions.
- TumbleROCK — Age 4-5 · Students learn basic tumbling and acro basic skills; the structured class also builds agility and strength.
- Hip Hop ROCK — Age 4-5 · An introduction to Hip Hop where kids learn coordination, rhythm, and how to groove.
- Primary Ballet — Age 6-8 · One-hour lessons in ballet technique.
- Primary Jazz — Age 6-8 · Students are introduced to the fundamentals of technique and vocabulary in jazz foundation and technique elements.
- Primary Hip Hop — Age 6-8 · Students learn class etiquette and hip hop basics, with warm up, progressions, choreography and freestyle dance.
- Primary TAP — Age 6-8 · Focus is on tap technique, foundation steps, music and rhythm.
- Primary ACRO — Age 6-8 · Students learn tumbling and acrobatic skills and technique.

About the provider
The program states, “We chase big dreams and teach the tools needed to achieve them.” It also gives older kids the opportunity to mentor younger kids, and younger kids get to emulate the older kids. Class placement is determined by age, physical development, and level of previous training, and students may remain in the same level for 2-3 years before they are physically and mentally ready for the next level.
