Before and After School Programs

Before and After School Programs includes the Before and After School Program and the School Age Program. The program offers A.M., P.M., or both A.M. and P.M. care before and after the school day, and it also serves early release days and days when school is not in session. It serves children in kindergarten through 6th grade, with school age children enrolled in kindergarten through fifth grade, and children in kindergarten at Peavine Elementary School.

About the provider

The childcare program has been in operation since 1972. In 1987, the educational wing of the church was built to accommodate youth programs and the growing child care population. St. Paul's United Methodist Church and Noah's Ark Child Center describe their work as a non-denominational, non-profit out-reach mission and state a commitment to the needs of the community, childcare, and childcare excellence. The mission statement says, 'To facilitate an inclusive outreach, Noah's Ark stresses acceptance, caring and a loving environment.'

The religious emphasis is in the environment, stressing acceptance and a caring and loving environment. The religion of the home is respected. A simple 'thank you' is part of snack and lunchtime. The major Jewish and Christian holidays, as well as discussion of other religious/cultural practices and customs, are incorporated into gathering and story times.
