Ramapo Country Day Camp, 600 Saddle River Rd, Airmont, NY 10952
About
Ramapo Country Day Camp offers swimming, sports, arts & ingenuity, interactive play, and outdoor adventure challenges. The camp runs these activities within a first class facility on meticulously maintained 35 acres.
• Ages: 3–13 years old
• Schedule: 2026 camp season runs Monday, June 29 through Friday, August 21, with weekly sessions and closure on Friday, July 3
Ramapo Country Day Camp serves campers entering Nursery through 8th grade and serves most areas in Manhattan and Bergen County and select areas in Brooklyn. The camp’s mission states that Ramapo gives children a safe place to build life skills, gain confidence, make friends, learn social skills, problem solve, venture outside their comfort zones, try new things, emulate positive role models, and be happy being a kid. Owner/Director Mike Kulchin first stepped onto Ramapo’s grounds in the fall of 1990, and he and his wife Michele purchased Ramapo in November 1990. Their daughters, Lindsey and Courtney, work year-round as the third generation of Kulchins taking care of kids, and the year-round team maintains control of every major component of the child’s summer experience with a year-round commitment to making every summer better than the last. The program features small camper-to-counselor ratios, specialist-run activities, constant reinvestment in the facility, and uses the tagline, “There’s no place like it.” Ramapo is described as a continuation of the child’s education, and Mike’s story with day camp goes back over 50 years, including spending his entire life in day camp and working alongside his dad for 12 years after college.
