About

Children’s Corner Learning Center offers circle time in the morning, homework support, and other engaging activities. The program includes fun, adventure, and educational activities during its summer camp and school-age offerings.

• Ages: 0–12 years old

Founded in 1952 by Sister Margaret O’Brien of Bronxville, NY as the original Children’s Corner Nursery School, the program pivoted towards a more educational experience and became Children’s Corner Learning Center in 2004. It operates as a daycare and early learning center with a safe, loving, and nurturing environment and a secure, enriching environment for children. The program offers care and education for infants, toddlers, preschoolers, pre-K, and school-age children, with children from 6 months to 5 years of age in a safe and secure learning environment. It provides individualized learning, individualized care to support academic growth, low classroom ratios, flexible schedules, open-door policies, and before and after-school care for school-age children. The center also offers a summer camp as an exhilarating seasonal program packed with fun, adventure, and educational activities, and a secure, enriching environment for school-age children that includes homework support and engaging activities. Healthy, well-balanced meals are planned by registered dietitians.

Caregivers at Children’s Corner Learning Center are carefully selected, highly trained, and described as trained and experienced caregivers and passionate and experienced educators. The mission states that every child deserves a happy, healthy, and safe environment to grow and learn, and that the early learning center aims to provide a nurturing and educational experience. The program notes that safety is the number one priority in its learning environment and that it has fostered lasting and meaningful relationships between families and the communities it serves. The organization reports having 10 convenient locations, also described in some materials as 9 convenient locations throughout Westchester and Rockland County.

Parent testimonials describe the environment as feeling like leaving a child with family, with teachers who are open, mature, gentle, and kind, and staff who are friendly and caring. Parents report that children make friends quickly, enjoy the structure and circle time in the morning, and are eager to share about their day. One parent notes that a child has attended since 13 weeks old and is now 4, and another describes a smooth transition from a nanny to starting at 18 months because teachers were kind and engaging.
