CSI Nursery School, Religious School, and Youth Programs
Congregation Sons of Israel, 1666 Pleasantville Rd, Briarcliff Manor, NY 10510
About
CSI Nursery School, Religious School, and Youth Programs are part of Congregation Sons of Israel and include nursery school, religious school, and youth offerings. The programs connect with a fully functioning organic farm that features raised beds for communal planting, chickens, herbs, tomatoes, squash, and other produce, along with a prayer and meditation garden with walking paths that are integrated into school activities and events. Farm-to-table kiddush luncheons use produce from the farm, and event centerpieces often double as plantable herbs.
• Ages: 0–18 years old
The programs are part of a vibrant, multi-generational community of approximately 300 member families. The nursery school is described as one of the county’s most respected early learning centers, and the Religious School is described as inclusive, joyful, accessible, and deeply rooted in Jewish tradition. The mission statement for Congregation Sons of Israel states that the community is grounded in Torah, nourished by tradition, and inspired by possibility, and that it grows together in learning, spirit, and acts of loving kindness, with an emphasis that everyone belongs and community matters. Leadership for these programs includes Senior Rabbi Dina Rosenberg, Cantor Jeffrey Shiovitz, Rabbi Emeritus Steven Kane, Nursery School Director Naomi Elyachar, Religious School Director Sheera Zuckerman, and Schools Administrator Janice Rappaport, along with additional administrative staff. CSI Nursery School has been recognized with the 2025 Best of Westchester Nursery School credential. Produce from the organic farm is donated to local food banks and appears at area restaurants.
