Rush Day Camp has been a leader in unforgettable summer camp experiences since 1971 and has set the standard for summer camp serving families since 1971. The program was founded by Naismith Hall of Fame Coach Cathy Rush, and these values are carried on today by Michael Rush and the dedicated Rush Day Camp Team. Rush Day Camp’s mission is to provide a quality service that reaches beyond campers’ and parents’ highest expectations, with a philosophy rooted in responsibility for the health, safety, and personal growth of all campers. The program states that the positive example of the entire staff will directly reflect on the attitude of all campers, and that each day should provide a learning experience in promoting self-esteem, meeting new friends, and mastering new tasks in an environment of fun. The program states that staff and campers work together to help each other reach their potential and that it is their duty to make sure each camper comes to understand the meaning of friendship, teamwork, and accomplishment, in a relaxed atmosphere where learning is emphasized and fun is demanded.
Rush Day Camp is proud to partner with many elite institutions to provide a vital community service. One parent reports that their children love Rush Day Camp, mentioning an entertaining but relaxed schedule, weekly themes, interesting guests, and friendly counselors who are passionate about working with children, and says their son cannot wait for next summer. Another parent reports seeing new growth in their son as he learned to conquer his fear of the water, tried new sports, and made new friends, and describes the counselors as kind, energetic, and fun-loving.
