CEPA Gallery is a contemporary photography and visual arts center with impact in both local and national communities. CEPA Gallery was founded during the Alternative Space Movement in May 1974, and Big Orbit Project Space was incorporated in 1991 and merged with CEPA in 2013. The Education Director is Nate Ely. One featured CEPA Summer Art Program student, Hope Grunert, states, “CEPA is the reason I am the photographer I am. I have learned things that I will keep with me for the rest of my life and I have met people who have shaped the way I take a photo.” CEPA suggests checking out Squeaky Wheel, now located in the Tri-Main building, for their half day youth programs and virtual summer classes, and notes that Andrea Wenglowskyj was generously funded by Art Services Inc. for her recent exhibition at CEPA, Anxiety of Amnesia. Cafe Royal Books, whose publication is sold through CEPA, has been presented with the Royal Photographic Society Award for Photographic Publishing and was a finalist for the international Lucie Award for Editing.
