Camp Alvernia is a summer day camp where campers take part in major sports, swimming, and sailing. The program has the culture and feel of an old-fashioned sleepaway camp, while operating as a day camp. It serves children and teens with a special focus on positive youth development within an inclusive culture of respect where every child is free to be themselves.

Camp Alvernia has a 130 year old history. Its mission is to actively help develop each camper’s spiritual, moral, and physical advancement. In keeping with a Franciscan tradition, the camp provides a warm, caring environment with special attention toward serving youth and promoting environmental awareness. Camp Alvernia is open to all without regard to religion, race, or national origin. The camp’s leadership includes Ben, who serves as camp director.
