About
Youth Enrichment Services After School & Youth Programs offers daily after school programs that include homework help, tutoring, study groups, arts and crafts, music, dance, cooking, recreation, and access to a wellness center. The program also offers activities such as work readiness and career exploration, character building, high interest field trips, guest speakers, PAR FORE (USGA) Golf, USTA Tennis, and a variety of mentoring options including career mentoring, peer mentoring, and mentoring for youth with special needs. Additional offerings include Youth Leadership Project, Natural Helpers, Youth Advisory Councils, a Community Reinvestment Program, Saturday Enrichment, Open Gyms, Drop In Lounges, YMCA Teen Night, Friday Night Socials, individual and family counseling, prevention workshops on substance abuse, violence, bullying, and gambling, and evidence-based programs such as Too Good for Drugs, Too Good For Violence, and Life Skills, along with Summer Enrichment, Summer Fun, and a Drop In Lounge.

• Schedule: Daily after school programs during the school year, with Summer Programs beginning the first Monday after school ends and ending the last Friday before school begins; some programs begin as early as 7am
• Price: YES offers tutoring services for a monthly administration fee.
Licensed bilingual social workers with a specialty in working with children and adolescents are part of the staff. Work Readiness, Career Exploration, and Job Placement Programs are designed for youth 14–21 years of age and begin as early as middle school. Saturday Enrichment is for grades 1–5, Summer Programs are for youth ages 5–21, Summer Enrichment is for Pre-K–6th grade, Summer Fun is for 7th–12th grade, and the Youth Leadership Project (YLP) is for youth and special needs children ages 14–26. Youth Enrichment Services meets all 20 Standards of Charity Accountability as established by the Better Business Bureau.
Youth Enrichment Services collaborates with the Great South Bay Coalition, and Nichole Schmidt was a founding member of the coalition who helped the organization secure a federal Drug Free Community Support grant addressing substance use and abuse in the Bayport, Blue Point, and Sayville communities. Youth Enrichment Services also participates in Islip Goes Purple, a month-long initiative in the Town of Islip focused on mental health, substance use disorder, and celebrating those in recovery, and has shared information about these topics at many Islip Goes Purple events since 2019.
