Summit Summer Camp includes activities such as foosball, magnetic tiles, foursquare, dance parties, crafts, electronics, toys, kick ball, swings, a play set, road hockey, a sand box, tag, flag football, soccer, and basketball. The camp also includes grilled hotdogs, an off campus field trip by bus, a walking field trip to a local park, and visits from an ice-cream truck.
• Ages: 5–13 years old
• Schedule: Summit Summer Camp runs every week throughout the summer Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM, starting on Monday June 29th and ending on Friday August 28th.
• Price: Option 1: Full-time camp, M–F, $290 per week (Tuesday field trip and ice-cream Fridays are included). Option 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, $217 (includes Tuesday field trip). Option 3: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, $183 (includes ice-cream Friday). Option 4: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, $180. Off campus field trip by bus requires an additional $37 pre-paid in weekly registration. The ice-cream truck is $3 pre-paid in weekly registration. A registration fee of $40 is processed upon registration.
Summit Summer Camp is part of Summit Child Care, LLC, which is a specially licensed program with the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). Summit Child Care notes that it is celebrating 16 years of great summer memories and offers an organized curriculum of activities with an all-inclusive experience that features Tuesday field trips, ice-cream Fridays in some options, grilled hotdogs on Wednesdays at no additional fee, and a walking field trip to a local park at 12:00 pm on Thursdays, weather permitting. The program is open to all children entering kindergarten through middle school for the upcoming 2026/2027 school year and is described as having spacious, convenient grounds that are large and safe for play.
Summit Child Care’s founder and owner, Tracey Fraser, is a certified teacher specializing in elementary aged school children and serves as Executive Director, with Jeff Fraser as Managing Partner. The leadership and staff team includes David Boyle (Site Supervisor), Christina King (Karigon & Orenda), Jane Cavanaugh (High School East), Jordan Moffre (Before School & Afterschool Care), Garrett Hedge (K-wrap & After School Care), Tess Forcucci (K-Wrap & Afterschool Care), Meghan Hepfer, Michael Sgambati, Laurie Leirey, and Amber Gjata (After School Care), along with Ashlee Treglia (English Teacher, Mechanicville Central School District) and Beth Laquidara (Spanish Teacher, Mechanicville Central School District). All Summit team members are Shenendehowa employees unless otherwise noted.
Summit Child Care, LLC states in its mission that it offers the highest quality care at an affordable price during the school year and throughout the summer months, with healthy snacks, fitness with friends, enrichment activities, and structured time to complete homework, and uses the phrase “Helping Children Reach New Heights.” The broader Summit Child Care program also offers Before School Care, After School Care, Kindergarten Wrap, and Summer Camp, with care available Monday through Friday before school, after school, for AM and PM kindergarten, on snow days, during school vacations, and during scheduled Shenendehowa closings such as superintendent conference days.
