About
Time For You Playcare offers after-school care, morning care, full day care for school breaks and holidays, and summer camp. Children take part in dramatic play, music, art exploration, group activities, group games, large motor play, exercising, and theme-based projects. The program also includes activities such as a “build a boat that floats” science experiment, reading nutritional books, cooking, and on-site community service projects like making holiday cards for veterans and seniors, as well as an incubation unit that teaches about the life cycle of a chicken.

The program’s stated mission is to provide a safe, fun and educational environment that emphasizes values, health and community, with a goal of developing every child in five areas: Building Creativity, Communication, Nutrition and Exercise, Cognitive Learning, and Community Participation. The leadership team includes Co-Directors Miss Dana and Mrs. D., along with staff members Miss Kelly, Miss Christina, Miss Emma, Miss Patti, Miss Paige, Miss Susan, and Miss Mikala in various after-school and summer camp teaching roles. Dana graduated from SUNY Oneonta in 2012 with a B.S. in Sociology and a minor in Educational Psychology, Donna has 41 years of experience in the child care service industry, Kelly has a B.A. in Psychology from SUNY Oswego, and Susan holds a Business Degree from the College of New Hampshire. The program notes that Emma has been part of the Time For You Playcare team for the past three years.
Community involvement includes on-site community service such as making holiday cards for veterans and seniors. Outside the program, Paige volunteers in the community through National Honor Society, and Mikala is involved in Shenendehowa’s Best Buddies program, where she builds relationships with children with special needs.
