About
Building Blocks Developmental Preschool is an early childhood center that includes physical education, a music program, and computer literacy activities. Children participate in field trips, pumpkin picking, a visit from the fire department, and special performances as part of the program. The program offers comprehensive services such as regular education, special education, speech therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, family training, evaluation services, and ABA therapy, along with specialized options like Mommy & Me, Toddler Groups, Preschool Classes, Related Services, Special Education Itinerant Teachers, and a Preschool Autism Program.

Building Blocks Developmental Preschool has been dedicated to enhancing the development of children from birth through age five for 40 years. The curriculum is aligned with New York State Department of Education Learning Standards and is enhanced by physical education, a music program, and computer literacy activities. The leadership team includes Executive Director Donna Charbonneau, MA, PD; Assistant Director Dorothy Aversano, MA, SLP-CCC, PD; and Educational Coordinator Christi M. Crispino, MS, SBL. Building Blocks is approved by the New York State Education Department as a special education facility and evaluation site for children ages 3–5 years and maintains a day care license in accordance with regulations set by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services. The school community has acknowledged support from Legislator Leslie Kennedy and Comptroller Kennedy, including their role in arranging for Cornell Cooperative Extension to bring live turkeys to visit the children at the conclusion of a Thanksgiving musical.
