About

Croton-on-Hudson Recreation & Parks Youth Programs are offered through the Village of Croton-on-Hudson Recreation and Parks Department. The Recreation Department Office is open for program-related business during regular and summer hours, and families use Recreation Photo ID cards for access to Village parks and conservation areas connected with these programs.

• Schedule: Office hours are Monday–Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm, with summer hours from June 1 to Labor Day of Monday–Thursday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm and Friday 8:30 am to 2:00 pm.

The Recreation & Parks Department follows a mission statement adopted by the Recreation Advisory Committee and the department on March 9, 2004. The mission states that the department aims to create and maintain aesthetically pleasing, safe, healthful, and enjoyable areas for residents; provide positive, cost-effective leisure opportunities for children, youth, adults, and seniors; and promote the preservation and appropriate use of the Village’s recreational resources. The leadership team for the department and the wider village includes the Recreation Superintendent Mark Duncan, Recreation Assistant Valerie Nolan, Director of Senior Recreation Joanna Straub, Mayor Brian Pugh, multiple Village Trustees and Deputy Mayor, the Village Manager and supporting administrative staff, and heads of departments such as Police, Fire, EMS, Public Works, Water, Engineering, Building Inspection, Planning, Zoning, and the Village Court. A valid Recreation Photo ID is required for use of Village parks and conservation areas, and these ID cards are available to both Village residents and Croton-Harmon School District residents. Residents can obtain a Recreation Photo ID by submitting an online form or by completing the form in person at the Recreation Department Office on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. The Village also operates a Public, Educational, and Governmental (PEG) Channel that broadcasts live meetings and replays past sessions on Cable Channel 78 and via online livestream.
