About
East Greenbush Summer Camp includes field trips that follow the camp schedule. If a child attends the half-day program, the program requires that the child be at camp for a full day on field trip days, and if a child does not join the field trip, the child should not be sent to camp that day. All activities and stations are created based on weekly themes, age appropriateness, and to build physical, emotional, academic, and social skills.
• Ages: 5–15 years old
• Schedule: Camp hours are 9 a.m.–3 p.m., with optional after-care from 3 p.m.–5 p.m. for an additional fee, and half-day options from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. or 12 p.m.–3 p.m.
Junior Camp is for children entering grades 1–5, and Senior Camp is for children entering grades 6–9, and the two camps are located in different areas of the park with activities created to be developmentally appropriate. Children must have completed kindergarten to enroll, and current year immunization records are required for all registrants each year. Limited bus transportation is available to campers who live within the Town of East Greenbush boundary lines. Campers need to bring a bagged lunch, snack, water bottle, change of clothes, and a towel each day, and lunch is not provided.
The East Greenbush Town Camp is required to have a permit to operate by the New York State Health Department and is required to be inspected twice annually, and it receives its permit to operate from the Rensselaer County Health Department. Multiple staff members are CPR, AED, and First Aid certified. The Town Camp is partially funded through the New York State Office of Children’s and Family Services and the Rensselaer County Department for Youth, and the Rensselaer County Department for Youth also monitors the Town of East Greenbush Camp.
