About
KidStrong is a kids training program where children take part in fitness games, obstacle courses, tug of war, and tire flips. Classes use science-based fitness games that are developmentally appropriate, fun, and challenging. Each class follows a set structure that includes an Affirmation, Social Greeting, Foundations, Milestone, Move & Learn, Performance, Competition, and an Award Ceremony.
• Ages: 1–11 years old
• Schedule: Membership includes one 45-minute class per week with weekly 45-minute classes
During the KidStrong affirmation, kids say, “I am strong, I am brave, I can do this!” The Social Greeting block includes shaking hands, making eye contact, and saying their name. In the Foundations block, kids combine warm-ups with skill development, and in the Milestone block they work through complex skills to stimulate brain function and enhance cognitive development. The Move & Learn block blends physical activity with cognitive or character development, while the Performance block focuses on skill mastery through repeated training and testing. The Competition block develops grit through games like tug of war or tire flips, and each class ends with an award ceremony recognizing kids’ and parents’ efforts each week. Parents join class on the floor with kids under 4 years old. The program offers age-appropriate classes and a curriculum that focuses on three pillars: Character, Physical, and Cognitive, using science-based programming designed by child development experts.
KidStrong states that it is a kids training program that builds strong, confident and high-character kids, and that it helps kids win at life by developing a strong body, mind and character through weekly 45 minute classes led by expert coaches. Coaches are described as highly trained, well trained, and highly skilled, and programming is designed by child development experts. The leadership team includes Founders Matt & Megin Sharp, SR. MGR., Training & Cert Morgan Johnson, Senior Programming Specialist Ramon Williams, and Programming Specialist Randy Nguyen. KidStrong reports that 96% of kids see an increase in self-confidence, 88% of parents notice social skills improvement, and 85% of kids say it is more fun than other programs, and that coaches help kids become resilient, confident and strong. The program includes a rank-up system where kids can unlock new responsibilities and celebrate progress along the way.
Parent testimonials describe individual experiences with KidStrong. One parent from KidStrong Crestview Hills reports that the program taught their child how to participate, listen, be a good teammate, and have patience. A parent from KidStrong Mandeville shares that their daughter has been more brave doing things that others her age might be scared to do and credits much of her growth to attending weekly. A parent from KidStrong Prosper notes that their child started at 16 months old, became less shy and more confident in group activities, and that KidStrong is their family’s favorite part of each week. Another parent from KidStrong Waldwick, NJ, says their kids have begun to come out of their shells in a short time. A parent from KidStrong Prairieville, LA, shares that KidStrong has helped their “Covid-baby” come out of his shell and describes the coaches as very caring.
