About
SPORTIME Kings Park Camps and EXCEL Junior Tennis Programs include tennis, pickleball, volleyball, basketball, soccer, dek hockey, lacrosse, swimming, arts and crafts, music, games, tournaments, and team practices. The programs take place at a club that is open 365 days a year.
• Ages: 3–17 years old
• Schedule: Open daily with hours Monday–Friday 7:00 AM–11:00 PM, Saturday 7:00 AM–9:00 PM, and Sunday 7:00 AM–8:00 PM
SPORTIME has been providing tennis instruction to children of all ages and skill levels for more than 30 years. The multi-sport summer day camp is accredited by the American Camp Association and welcomes more than 400 campers every day of the summer, from pre-schoolers through 9th graders. Summer camp features experienced, qualified coaches and counselors, and SPORTIME Kings Park summer camp sells out very quickly. The club’s turf dome serves as a regional hub for team practices, tournaments and turf sports events, and the multi-sport court serves as a regional hub for volleyball, basketball and other sport-court activities. Non-members can participate in certain activities including camps, some introductory programs, and court-time rental at non-discounted rates, while SPORTIME members receive reciprocal privileges at other designated SPORTIME clubs and discounted court-time.
The program’s stated purpose is to help those who patronize the clubs achieve their sports and fitness goals. The leadership team includes Jared Elgayeh, Regional Manager, Syosset, Kings Park and Bethpage Tennis. The Johnny Mac Tennis Project (JMTP) serves more than 5,000 New York kids every year by removing racial, economic and social barriers to success through tennis.
Parent and participant reviews describe SPORTIME Kings Park as an “awesome facility” with friendly and helpful staff, and mention that booking court time is simple and convenient, with plenty of parking available. One review notes that a child has attended for a few summers, enjoys theme parties every Friday, and has learned to swim, play tennis and be more active, and also mentions that spring and winter break camps work well for working parents. Another review highlights fun, knowledgeable instructors in adult beginner classes and expresses interest in enrolling a child in the kids’ classes.
