Since 1994, SPORTIME has operated tennis and sports facilities in the Tri-State Area. SPORTIME owns and operates tennis, pickleball, and sports clubs that feature racket and paddle sports and elite academies for tennis and volleyball at locations across Long Island, in NYC, Westchester and the NY Capital Region, and in New Jersey. Across its 20 clubs, SPORTIME offers more than 325 indoor and outdoor tennis and pickleball courts, as well as volleyball, turf, hockey and sports rinks, and gyms. SPORTIME Kings Park features world-class indoor tennis, pickleball, youth sports, and the largest summer camp in Suffolk County, Long Island. SPORTIME Randall’s Island is the company’s NYC flagship and is described as the world’s largest indoor tennis club and academy, with a $75 million facility that is home to the John McEnroe Tennis Academy (JMTA) and an international team of more than 60 coaches who lead year-round programs on 33 hard and soft-surface courts.
The program’s mission is to help those who patronize SPORTIME clubs achieve their sports and fitness goals. SPORTIME camps are described as offering the best coaches, counselors, and facilities, and as a place for kids to make friends, explore new sports, and spend summer days in a safe, fun, and challenging environment. SPORTIME School Break Camps are described as the place to be when school is out. The organization reports having more dedicated pickleball clubs and courts than any other operator in the Tri-State region, with 136 indoor and outdoor pickleball courts in its markets, and notes that each SPORTIME club is unique rather than following a single template.
The coaching staff includes more than 250 certified coaches who work with athletes of all levels and ages. The leadership team includes Claude Okin (President, Chief Executive Officer & Senior Managing Director), Bennett Schlansky (Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, General Counsel & Senior Managing Director), Laurie Harlin (Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer), Joe Siegel (Senior Vice President & Senior Managing Director; Executive Director, SPORTIME VBC), Jeff Crowne (Senior Vice President & Senior Managing Director), Courtney Repoli (Vice President & Chief Administrative Officer), and Chelsea Riccio (Vice President of Operations & Senior Managing Director). Additional leaders include John McEnroe (Founder and Director of John McEnroe Tennis Academy), Patrick McEnroe (Executive Director of John McEnroe Tennis Academy), Mike Barrell (Executive Director of Tennis), Carlos Campo (Managing Director, Westchester & Capital Region), Jim Costello (Controller), Kelly David (Executive Director of Marketing & Brand Operations), Tony Kerr (Executive Director of Information & Technology), Chris Leahy (Executive Director of Facilities), Pat Nappo (Executive Director of Engineering), Mary Wong-Saunders (Executive Director of Human Resources), Mark Bowtell (Regional Manager, Randall's Island, Westchester and Capital Region & Director, JMTA NYC), Jared Elgayeh (Regional Manager, Syosset, Kings Park and Bethpage Tennis), Matt Li (Regional Manager, Roslyn, Lynbrook and Port Washington), Jill Spangenberg (Global Director of Retail Operations), and Jason Pasion (Global Director of Tournaments).
Through the Johnny Mac Tennis Project (JMTP), SPORTIME is connected to a community initiative that serves more than 5,000 New York kids every year and focuses on removing racial, economic, and social barriers to success through tennis.
