USA Bobsled/Skeleton Recruitment Combines

USA Bobsled/Skeleton Recruitment Combines features athletic testing that includes the 40-Yard Sprint, Broad Jumps, Vertical Jumps, the 5-10-5 Pro Agility Shuttle, the Kneeling Power Ball Toss, and a 20-Yard Resisted Sprint. The program also offers a Slide to Glory Recruitment Combine that uses the same recruitment structure.

USA Bobsled/Skeleton’s stated mission is to empower United States athletes to achieve sustained competitive success in bobsled and skeleton and pursue personal excellence and well-being. USA Bobsled/Skeleton (USABS) is the National Governing Body for the sports of bobsled and skeleton in the United States and represents Team USA in these sports at the international level. USA Bobsled/Skeleton notes that skills mastered in other sports can transition into success on the ice. Advancement through the USA Bobsled & Skeleton athlete pipeline is based on measurable performance standards, competition results, and coaching evaluation, with selection criteria varying by discipline, role, and event or tour. Bobsled pilots are evaluated on driving skill and race results in addition to strength, speed, and push times, brakemen and push athletes are evaluated on strength, speed, and push times, and skeleton athletes are judged on both push performance and driving consistency. USA Bobsled/Skeleton promotes the public interest in and awareness of participation by the U.S. National Bobsled and Skeleton Teams in elite international athletic competitions through the sports of bobsled and skeleton.
