South East Consortium for Special Services Therapeutic Recreation Programs offers therapeutic recreation programs and leisure-related services for children and adults with disabilities and special needs who live in its member municipalities. The programs collaborate and build unique recreation opportunities for participants ages 5 and beyond with various disabilities and special needs. The organization offers a comprehensive and balanced calendar of programs and services that are age appropriate, suitable for people with different levels of ability, and designed to have an impact on an individual for a lifetime. By creating positive opportunities and experiences, participants have demonstrated an ability to perform better in school, the workplace and become more active in community life.

South East Consortium for Special Services, Inc. was founded in 1981 as a not-for-profit community-based organization. Its mission is to provide therapeutic recreation programs and leisure-related services to children and adults with disabilities and special needs residing in its member municipalities. Member municipalities include the Town/Village of Mamaroneck, Town/Village of Scarsdale, Town/Village of Harrison, Town of Eastchester, Town of Pelham, City of Rye, Village of Rye Brook, Village of Port Chester, Village of Larchmont, Village of Bronxville, and Village of Tuckahoe. The leadership team includes Jennifer Spenner-Kind, Executive Director; Eric Acevedo, Program Supervisor/Billing Coordinator; Austin Cunney, Senior Program Supervisor; and Marcus Jones, Program Supervisor. Over 110 employees provide over 19,000 program and transportation hours each year to over 350 children and adults who live with their families and in community residences throughout these municipalities. In 2016, South East was selected as an “Outstanding Special Needs Recreation Program” by Westchester Family Magazine.
