Coleman Country Day Camp

Coleman Country Day Camp describes its setting as “our own Ranch” and a “Landscape for Learning,” with a fusion of traditional camp activities and state-of-the-art adventures on the Ranch. The camp states that it makes it safe for knees and elbows, and for feelings as well. Camp days begin and end with a daily bus ride, where safety and fun are described as priorities.

Coleman Country Day Camp describes itself as a kid-safe, kid-centric community where children of all ages uncover their best selves while having the summers of their lives, and refers to this as the “Power of Fun” that inspires them to “Dream Big.” The camp offers age-specific program groupings: Pioneers-in-Training for children 20–30 months old, Pioneers for Nursery–Kindergarten, Scouts for Grades 1–2, Explorers for Grades 3–4, 49ers for Grades 5–8, and Counselors-in-Training for Grades 9–10. The camp states that campers instantly become part of an extended family, and that the camp becomes part of theirs, with captivating, purposeful activities and tailored daily events.

The camp provides direct service transportation with air-conditioned, round-trip, seat-belted buses throughout Long Island, Manhattan, and Long Island City. Each bus includes caring, competent bus counselors along with CDL-certified drivers, and the camp notes that families are asked not to send packages to its P.O. Box and to call for the shipping address.
