About

The YMCA of Middletown Youth Programs offers Actin’ Up-Drama, where students work on monologues, improv, skits, and short plays. It also offers Advanced Poetry Workshop, with Spoken Word poetry, dramatic performance techniques, and composing a book of poetry, along with Basketball drills for dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, and teamwork.

Programs

  • Actin’ Up-Drama — Students enhance their acting skills through monologues, improv, skits, and short plays.
  • Advanced Poetry Workshop — Learn Spoken Word poetry, dramatic performance techniques, and compose your own book of poetry.
  • Basketball — Learn and develop skills through drills for dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, and teamwork.
  • Girls Basketball — 6-13 · Learn and develop skills of the sport through drills in dribbling, shooting, passing, defense, and teamwork.
  • Basketball League | Coed — Middle school boys & girls · League with drafted teams, regular season play, and single-elimination playoffs.
  • Bollywood Groove Dance — Learn expressive movements, upbeat choreography, and cultural dance styles inspired by Indian film and music.
  • Bollywood Groove Family Dance — Beginner-friendly family Bollywood dance class; sign up a child and bring 2 family members.
  • Canvas Painting — Enjoy painting on a canvas and complete at least 7 of your own works to take home throughout the session.
  • Chess — Games are set up by age and/or skill level.
  • Clay Play, Arts & Crafts — Hands-on clay projects, painting, crafting, and other engaging art activities.
  • Color Pencil Art — Create inspirational works of art while learning layering, blending, shading, and more.
  • Crochet — Discover the relaxing and creative art of crochet; learn basic techniques, slip knots, simple stitches, and projects.
