About
Amazing Athletes is a game-based sports program where children learn skills from 10 different sports through interactive lessons and exercises to develop motor skills. The program introduces the fundamentals of sports such as martial arts, baseball, hockey, golf, volleyball, track and field, football, lacrosse, soccer, basketball, and tennis, along with physical fitness challenges. Sessions are designed to get kids jumping and moving with an unmatched variety of over 70 different sports, activities, and fitness-based games, and some classes focus on discovering and exploring 3 sports at a time.
• Ages: 18 months–12 years old
For over 20 years, Amazing Athletes has been partnering with schools and communities. The program offers industry leading multi-sport enrichment programs with a year-round curriculum, a low kid-to-coach ratio, and a discovery-based program for toddlers that combines fitness, learning, and fun. Its multi-sport programs use sport, fitness, and fun to develop key motor skills such as balancing, running, jumping, throwing, catching, and kicking, and also include learning about muscle groups and nutrition. Children are introduced to muscle groups through Muscle Zoo characters and to power foods and their “super powers” through the Powers Family characters. Amazing Athletes states that it is on a mission to inspire active futures for the next generation, using inner strength and athletic abilities, and its mission is supported by professional athlete ambassadors and an endorsement from Chancy and Bruce, LLC. The program reports community involvement through partnerships with schools and communities that focus on teaching the basics of sports, health, and nutrition.
Parents describe their experiences with Amazing Athletes in several ways. One parent reports that their daughter works on motor skills, learns about various fruits and veggies, and hand and foot coordination, and that the children “play every sport one can think of.” Another parent notes that their five-year-old talks about what he has learned in both sports and nutrition. Other parents say their toddlers and older children look forward to every session each week, and one parent credits the program with their son developing a love of sports. Parents and caregivers also mention that coaches have fun and active ideas planned for each class, that children in their programs look forward to it every week, and that it supports concepts such as taking turns and following rules. One family who attended a free trial reports that staff went above and beyond to make the kids feel confident and engaged, with many options to keep them busy and focused.
