About
Atlantic Acting School Youth Programs are part of Atlantic Acting School, which equips students with the physical, emotional, and analytical tools of acting through an immersive, learn-by-doing approach. The programs are connected to a school that offers full-time and evening conservatories, an NYU Tisch studio, and after-school and summer programs for kids and teens. Students in these programs learn to break through their creative comfort zones in service to bringing essential human stories to life.
Atlantic Acting School Youth Programs are run within an organization that was founded as an ensemble of impassioned student artists in 1985 and is celebrating 40 years of theater. The programs operate under the broader mission of Atlantic, which is to empower simple and honest storytelling that fosters greater understanding of the shared world and to explore essential truths onstage in both productions and classes. Atlantic expands access to arts education for over 3,500 NYC public school students through community-based education programs. The leadership team connected to the school and theater includes Artistic Director Neil Pepe, Managing Director Jeffory Lawson, Atlantic Acting School Executive Director Mary McCann, Director of Education & Recruitment Heather Baird, Director of Conservatory Training & Academic Affairs Lorielle Mallue, Artistic Director of Atlantic for Kids Alison Beatty, and Artistic Director of Student Productions Tom Costello, along with staff in production, operations, development, marketing, audience services, community outreach, student affairs, and alumni affairs.
