Atlantic Acting School is part of an organization that was founded as an ensemble of impassioned student artists in 1985 and is celebrating 40 years of theater. Its mission is to empower simple and honest storytelling that fosters greater understanding of the shared world, and to explore essential truths onstage through both productions and classes. As an educator of theater, it is driven by the belief that theater can challenge and transform ways of thinking and encourage reflection on roles in society, and it is committed to uncovering and celebrating stories of varied human existence. At Atlantic Acting School, students are equipped with physical, emotional, and analytical tools of acting to discover their truths, through an immersive, learn-by-doing approach.

The broader organization has received numerous awards, including 33 Tony Awards, 35 Obie Awards, 27 Lucille Lortel Awards, 26 Outer Critics Circle Awards, 18 Drama Desk Awards, 9 Audelco Awards, 7 New York Drama Critics’ Circle Awards, 7 The Dramatists Guild Awards, 7 Antonyo Awards, 5 Off Broadway Alliance Awards, 4 Theater World Awards, 4 Drama League Awards, 4 HOLA Awards, 4 Artios Awards, 2 Grammy Awards, and 2 Pulitzer Prizes for Drama.
