Family Saturdays

Family Saturdays offers one-hour interactive presentations featuring excerpts from New York City Ballet’s repertory, performed by Company dancers and members of the NYCB Orchestra. Each event includes a movement activity and a one-hour onstage presentation hosted by the Family Saturdays Co-Creative Directors, who share insight on the choreography, music, and dancers. The program includes themed events such as Ballet Emotions, The Building Blocks of Ballet, and A Magical Midsummer.

• Schedule: One-hour onstage presentations and one-hour interactive presentations on select Saturdays during the 2026–27 Season
• Price: Orchestra and First Ring / $42 per person; Second through Fourth Ring / $29 per person; NYCB Members at the Fellow level and higher receive special pricing to Family Saturdays

The 2026–27 Season Family Saturdays events are scheduled for October 17, 2026 (Ballet Emotions), February 27, 2027 (The Building Blocks of Ballet), and May 29, 2027 (A Magical Midsummer). Tickets for the 26–27 Season go on sale on Monday, August 3 at 12:00 PM, and tickets are required for infants, children, and adults. Family Saturdays is co-led by Megan Fairchild and Unity Phelan as Co-Creative Directors. Family Saturdays: Ballet Emotions focuses on how dance can express moods and feelings without words, The Building Blocks of Ballet explores essential positions and steps of ballet, and A Magical Midsummer explores George Balanchine’s ballet inspired by Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Priority seating for American Sign Language Interpretation is available for all Family Saturdays presentations.
