Junior Theater Festival features musical theater workshops, mainstage events, and professional performances. Participants see performances by Broadway professionals, and shows can be professionally adjudicated at JTF West 2027. The program also includes a student internship that involves assisting with various festival activities.

The Junior Theater Festival began in 2003 as a three-day musical theater event for educators and students. Its stated mission is to be the world’s biggest and best celebration of young people performing musical theater. The festival includes student internship programs at JTF Atlanta and JTF West for college-aged students with a stated passion for theater, offering hands-on experience by assisting with various festival activities throughout the weekend.
