Pouncing Tigers Martial Arts Academy offers Karate For Kids, Teen & Adult Martial Arts Classes, Adult Martial Arts, Hapkido classes, and a Bully Prevention program. Founded in 2007 by Instructor/Owner and Master Instructor Mr. Ken Gibson, Pouncing Tigers has been teaching in the community for over a decade. Mr. Gibson started his training in martial arts in 1989 and has earned black belts in Hapkido and Farang Mu Sul. He has studied Russian Sambo, Filipino stick and knife fighting, Estakada, Juijitsu, and American Boxing, fought professionally for a short time in Mixed Martial Arts, graduated from massage school in 1993, worked as a personal trainer since 1999, completed nutrition school in 2005, and holds a Master of Science degree in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine.
Pouncing Tigers describes its martial arts for children as a combination of complementary martial arts styles. The mission states that it is designed to teach children that respect and learning are fun, with a goal to plant a seed so that a love of martial arts and the habits that come with it will grow with the child.
