About
New Era Creative Space Programs offers activities that include theater, digital art, mixed media, leadership, character building, yoga, and nutrition classes. The program also runs a Monthly Book Club and Community Yoga sessions, and hosts an annual youth benefit celebration called Creativity Ignited 2026 (7th Annual Youth Benefit Celebration).

Since 2013, New Era Creative Space has been empowering young people to explore their innate capabilities and engage in social action. Its mission states that it offers creative and innovative programs that are financially accessible to all, and that it provides experiential learning experiences that empower young people to think critically, creatively, and collaboratively. The NECS Creative Academy is described as “The bus stops here! Where kids can explore, create, and have fun after school.”
In 2024, New Era Creative Space offered 69 programs, engaged 525 people in its programs, and provided $206K in subsidies, discounts, and scholarships. St. Peter’s Episcopal Church has hosted New Era Creative Space’s yoga and nutrition classes for adults, and Josephine Quiocho of Cornell Cooperative Extension’s SNAP-Ed New York, Hudson Valley Region led the nutrition session. New Era Creative Space invites volunteers, partners, and teaching artists to get involved to support hundreds of youth in Peekskill and neighboring communities. During Hudson Valley Gives, all gifts are described as being matched up to $35,000, doubling their impact for Westchester youth. For Community Yoga at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, mats are welcome and chairs are available.
