Long Point Camp offers activities such as Ga-Ga, soccer, volleyball, basketball, softball, kickball, swimming, boating, hiking and outdoors, fishing, and water sports. Campers also take part in arts and crafts, team and individual sports, performing and creative arts, waterfront activities, and a variety of games and fun.

Long Point Camp was founded by The Salvation Army in the mid-1950s. Each camping session welcomes approximately 190 children. Children range in age from 6 to 12 years, with the exception of Teen Camp for ages 13–17 and Music Camp. The camp is licensed by the New York State Department of Health. Certified lifeguards are on duty at the waterfront program area. The Salvation Army states that its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and to meet human needs in His name without discrimination. Long Point Camp is part of The Salvation Army, which describes itself as an international movement and an evangelical part of the universal Christian church, with a message based on the Bible and a ministry motivated by the love of God. The camp is equipped with a gymnasium, administration building, waterfront and boating area, swimming pool, gaga pit, playground, dining hall, campfire circle, chapel, and staff facilities. One camper, Kenny (age 7), reported enjoying hiking and outdoors, fishing, eating s’mores, learning how to set up a tent, and water sports, and said he made new friends and liked the counselors. Another camper, Jordan (age 11), reported that from the moment of arrival at camp, it was the most fun they had ever had away from family and that they gained more friends than expected.
