New York State Sheriffs’ Summer Camp offers a technology-free camp experience where kids make new friends, enjoy the outdoors, and try activities such as fishing and sailing. Campers interact with law enforcement who are at the camp as counselors and volunteers, complementing the camp staff.

• Price: Hundreds of kids from across New York State attend the Sheriffs’ Summer Camp each year at no cost to their families.
The New York State Sheriffs’ Institute, which runs the camp, is a not-for-profit organization that was formed in 1979. It is made up of all the Sheriffs of New York State and is supported by donations, grants, and honorary memberships to maintain its programs. The Institute’s mission is to bridge community and law enforcement by fostering positive relationships with youth in New York State, supporting crime victims, and providing training and education to officers. The camp’s Master Plan features a new year-round building that will allow underprivileged kids from throughout New York State to experience camp life in an upgraded building and will provide space for a wellness center for first responders.
